Cálculo de probabilidade no ensino médio utilizando o jogo de poker

Abstract

This dissertation presents a proposal to teach one of the most important subjects of mathematics in high school, the calculation of probability, through a card game called Poker in its modality known as Texas Hold’in. The main objective is that, through the inferences practiced in the game of Poker, the mathematical concepts involved in the game and the methods used to perform the probability calculation can be presented to students. Among the authors studied, Pascal, Laplace, Kishimoto and Murcia stand out. In order to achieve the desired result, an approach was made about the rules of the game of Poker, especially the Texas Hold’in modality, with some probabilities being calculated and situations in which the player's decision-making has as its main factor the calculation of probability. In order to systematize and consolidate the studied theme, a pedagogical proposal was presented to be adopted by the teacher in the classroom.
