Abstract

This paper aims to highlight general methodological possibilities of the Theory of Stage-by-stage Formation of Mental Actions, by Galperin, for the organization of teaching activity aimed at the humanization of the student. More specifically, it aims to explain how the process of humanization of the student happens; to elucidate the theoretical basis of the pedagogical mediation process aimed at humanizing the student; to explain how the formation of mental actions occurs in the context of the Theory of Stage-by-stage Formation of Mental Actions, and to show how orientation and execution of the study task in that proposal may be a methodological means for the humanizing teaching process. The research that resulted in this work allied theoretical studies and illustrative data from empirical research, as a means to highlight the methodological possibilities of the Theory of Stage-by-stage Formation of Mental Actions, by Galperin, which is the central aspect of this work. The illustrative data refer to a 2nd degree class (now 3rd degree year) from an elementary school in the city of Marília-SP, whose teacher has developed a teaching process in order to enable the learning of their students by means of a system of aids and characterized by the teacher's guidance. We concluded that the Theory of Stage-by-stage Formation of Mental Actions constitutes itself as a methodological possibility for the organization of teaching activity aimed at the humanization of the student, for providing the routing of pedagogical work through systemic-theoretical instruction that develops the student theoretical thinking in his relationship with the circumstances of his existence, allowing its formation as an autonomous person, creative, critical, with problem-solving ability, and, for this reason, characterizing the activity of teaching as a humanizing process
