O presente estudo objetivou refletir sobre a tese: É possível, através da análise das falas de pesquisadores reconhecidos como referências nacionais pelos seus pares, refletir sobre a formação inicial e continuada de professores para a educação básica, bem como recolher concepções que nos levam a pensar sobre os caminhos da pesquisa em ensino de astronomia e da formação docente para esse propósito. A partir disso, realizamos a pesquisa da natureza qualitativa. Em seu percurso, consultamos doutores relacionados à Astronomia ou não seu ensino, localizamos através do portal de currículos da plataforma Lattes, com o intuito de solicitar-lhes possíveis nomes de pesquisadores tidos como referências nacionais na pesquisa em ensino de Astronomia no Brasil. Os pesquisadores foram entrevistados e contribuíram com a pesquisa ao se expressarem sobre variados temas relacionados ao estudo proposto. A partir da análise de suas falas, fomos capazes de inferir conhecimentos sobre a atual situação do ensino e da pesquisa em Educação em Astronomia no país, bem como delimitamos os prováveis caminhos pelos quais a formação inicial e a formação continuada poderão seguir no futuro. Três considerações finais, entre as variadas inferências realizadas, são as mais expressivas: i. A inclusão de disciplinas relacionadas à Astronomia na formação inicial docente seria uma mudança ideal, porém distante; ii. A formação continuada no país é deficiente e paliativa; e iii. Os centros de referência para o ensino de Astronomia terão, cada vez mais, um importante papel no auxílio à formação de docentes autônomos

The present study aimed to reflect on the thesis: it is a possible, thought the analysis of the speeches of researchers recognized as national references by their peers, reflect on the initial and in-service teachers education for basic education as welll as gather ideas that lead us to think on the paths of research in Astronomy Education and teacher education for this purpose. From this, we conducted a qualitative research. In its course, we have consulted doctors related to astronomy or to its teaching, located through the portal Lattes in order to ask them possible names of researchers regarded as national experts is research astronomy education in Brasil. The researchers identified were interviewed and contributed expressing on various topics related to the proposed study. From the analysis of their answers, we were able to infer knowledge about the current situation of teaching and research in Astronomy Education in Brazil, as well as delimiting the probable ways in which the initial and in-service education could follow in the future. Three final considerations among the various inferences made, the most significant are: i. Inclusion of subjects related to astronomy in initial teacher education would be an ideal change, however distant; ii. In-service education in the country is poor and palliative; and iii. Reference centers for teaching astronomy increasingly will play an important role in helping the autonomous teacher's education
