Este trabajo analiza los antecedentes y el contexto en el que nace el Grado en Finanzas y Contabilidad e identifi ca los referentes nacionales e internacionales. Describe la experiencia de la Universidad de Sevilla en la elaboración de la memoria para la solicitud de verifi cación del título. Se espera que sea de utilidad para los centros que han de diseñar sus propios grados y completar la documentación requerida por la Agencia Nacional de la Evaluación de la Calidad y Acreditación (ANECA), así como para los profesores que deseen comprender las razones de los cambios en el diseño de los nuevos títulos en el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior (EEES).

The aim of this paper is to analyze the context and antecedents for the new degree in Accounting & Finance identifying national and international references. The experience of the University of Seville in the development of the report for the degree accreditation is also described. The information included in the paper is expected to be useful for (I) other universities facing the elaboration and completion of the memoranda and forms required by the ANECA for the evaluation of new degrees and (II) those interested in understand the rationale of the changes resulting in the new degrees in the framework of the EHEA.
