Avanzar en el uso de un lenguaje no sexista e inclusivo, entendido no sólo como medio de comunicar sino también de representar la realidad social, constituye un elemento importante para el desarrollo de la igualdad de género. La Universidad, por su papel educativo, socializador y de referente social, constituye un espacio central de actuación en el empleo del lenguaje. Este trabajo pretende explorar las percepciones del alumnado universitario en torno al lenguaje no sexista, analizando el grado de importancia que se le da en diferentes ámbitos y la identificación de manifestaciones sexistas en expresiones de uso cotidiano así como las barreras para un uso no sexista del lenguaje. La metodología empleada se basa en la encuesta y en la discusión grupal en el aula, participando en el estudio siete grupos de diferentes cursos de titulaciones de Ciencias Sociales y Jurídicas de la Universidad de Sevilla.

To advance in the use of a non-sexist and inclusive language, not only as a means of communication but also representing the social reality, it constitutes an important element for the development of gender equality. The University, for its educational role, socializing and social reference, is a central action in the use of language. This paper aims to explore the perceptions of university students about nonsexist language, analyzing the degree of importance given to it in different areas and identifying manifestations of sexism in everyday expressions as well as barriers to use non-sexist language. The methodology used is based on a survey and group discussion in the classroom. Participating in the study are seven groups of different degree courses in Social Sciences and Law at the University of Seville.
