Marcadores del discurso de Sevilla

Marcadores del discurso de Sevilla

Abstract

Although the Spanish discourse markers have been extensively studied in recent years, there are not many works devoted to their diatopical and diastratic variation. The present paper provides data in this sense: which markers are used by educated Sevillian speakers. To do this, we have compared two samples collected with a difference of forty years (1972-1973 and 2012-2013). This will allow us to observe if there are differences in the amount and type of discourse markers during this period. Although the number of cases was higher in the most recent surveys, there were no significant differences in the type of markers used at both times. The results of Seville reflected a preferential use of called conversational markers and structuring of information. We must emphasize the significant use of the markers pues, entonces and bueno, inter alia, which have shown a wide range of values in our materials.
