Abstract

This article contributes knowledge about a hitherto unheard-of work of art by Antonio de Torres, Mexican painter, which is in San Juan de la Palma’s Church (Seville). It is a representation of the Virgin of Guadalupe that miss Sebastiana Salazar gave as a present to San Juan de la Palma’s Church. The Discovery of the Sebastiana Salazar’s testament and the study of this painting has allowed attributing its authorship to Antonio de Torres and including it in his catalogue.
