Los visigodos: el pueblo olvidado

Abstract

Desde principios del siglo V hasta principios del siglo VIII, los visigodos habitaron en la Península Ibérica y trasladaron su capital a Toledo. A pesar del legado cultural y artístico que nos dejó este pueblo, parece ser que han sido olvidados y que su existencia pasa desapercibida para la mayoría de nosotros. La finalidad de este trabajo es el de analizar a qué se debe esa falta de información sobre el mundo visigodo y, en el caso de que fuera necesario, compensarla con una unidad didáctica donde predomina la metodología constructivista y el fomento del trabajo cooperativo. Se lleva a cabo una investigación donde se realizan unos cuestionarios para el aluminado, una encuesta para el profesorado y, por último, un estudio de varios libros de texto de Ciencias Sociales de distintas editoriales. Se manifiesta en los resultados que el alumnado no cuenta con los conocimientos básicos sobre el reinado visigodo. Por otro lado, se comprueba que en los libros de texto se trata esta parte de la historia de España brevemente, sin profundizar demasiado en ella. Debido a esta situación, se hace una propuesta de intervención educativa con numerosas sesiones llenas de actividades dinámicas y variadas.

From the beginning of the Vth century to the early VIIIth century, the Visigoths lived in the Iberian Peninsula and moved their capital to Toledo. Although the Visigoths left a high cultural and artistic legacy, they seem to have forgotten, so that their existence goes unnoticed for the most of us. The purpose of this work is to pinpoint the reasons of this lack of information about the Visigothic world. If necessary, we aim to balance it with a didactic unit in which prevails constructive methodology as well as the promotion of the cooperative work. We carry out research which relies on the students completing a questionary and the teachers taking a survey. In the same time, we provide a study based on the content of Social Science´s books of different editorials in order to asses this issue. As a result on the one hand, we show that the students do not possess any basic knowledge of the Visigothic period. On the other hand, we demonstrate that the aforementioned books treat this part of the history of Spain. Consequently, we propose educational intervention numerous work sessions and dynamic activities.
