Caracterización del verbo como clase de palabra en español

Caracterización del verbo como clase de palabra en español

Abstract

In this article, the author goes back to the definition of the verb he gave in 1978 and takes into consideration several, newer classifications which have appeared in recent studies. Now the author leaves aside the fuzzy notion of predicate and focuses on the criterion of the nucleus as the centre of semantic and syntactic relationships in the VP –verb phrase– and on the inherent morphological feature of mood-tense. The author discusses the word and word classes in Spanish and the criteria chosen to distinguish among them, in order to make his new definition of the verb easier to understand and interpret in relation to the classes and sub-classes of words in Spanish.
