Aprendizaje del vocabulario científico desde la perspectiva de campo léxico

Abstract

En las últimas décadas han surgido nuevas teorías sobre el estudio del vocabulario que se basan en las relaciones entre unidades léxicas semánticamente añoes. Estas teorías resultan de grao interés en el campo de la enseñanza de lenguas puesto que responden a una evidencia psicolingüística: la existencia de asociaciones mentales entre dichas unidades. Partiendo de la base de que el estudio del vocabulario juega un papel fundamental en los cursos de inglés especializado y de que su aprendizaje puede resultar una tarea bastante árida si no se lleva a cabo adecuadamente, en este articulo proponemos un acercamiento al estudio del léxico científico desde la perspectiva de campo léxico y análisis componencial. Este enfoque nos ha resultado muy positivo a partir de nuestra experiencia docente en cursos de Inglés para Fines Específicos en el área de Ciencias Experimentales. Ofrecemos un caso práctico que puede servir como modelo a la hora de estudiar un grupo de lexemas que comparten una parcela semántica de contenido común, señalando las semejanzas y diferencias a nivel intra e interlingüístico.
