Abstract

The concept of freedom associated with the culture pushes us to reflect on the role assumed by stakeholders: creators, mediators and receivers. Thus, defining free culture is somehow an analysis of the terms involved, and in this sense, cultural reflection involve a clear foray into the concepts of authorship, artistic work and receiving the same, and their mutual relations. When we talk about free culture, we are penetrating into the very notion of culture, in its relations with the idea of creative freedom and social participation. This analysis aims to reflect on these concepts, which with their interaction, develop cultural and community identity discourse
