Vocabulary teaching is an essential component in second language acquisition. Being able to include different vocabulary teaching strategies would include every student so they can find ways to facilitate their learning. This would considerably improve the learning and teaching process in classrooms. Therefore, this paper studies the current perception that teachers and students have about the vocabulary of an L2. Knowing and comparing their perceptions allows a deeper understanding of the matter and collecting positive and negative aspects so there is room for improvement.
