Patrones sociolingüísticos de pronunciación en la ciudad de Sevilla: variación sociofonética de 'seseo' y 'ceceo'

Abstract

El análisis sociolingüístico de las realizaciones fonéticas de la consonante dental /θs/ en la ciudad de Sevilla presenta un panorama bastante heterogéneo. Por un lado se da el patrón local seseante en estrecha competencia con procesos de convergencia hacia la solución dentointerdental. Por otro lado se registran pautas de pronunciación dialectales minoritarias, como el ceceo, con escasa consideración social. Dicha heterogeneidad afecta también a la variación intrapersonal, que va desde sujetos plenamente seseantes o distinguidores hasta informantes seceantes y ceseantes, en cuyas intervenciones se agrupan los cuatro alófonos bajo estudio. Algunos factores lingüísticos como la asimilación con las consonantes /s/ y /θ/ en el entorno fonético cercano o el empleo de las variantes en nombres propios han influido en distinta medida en la distribución de las variantes. Por su parte, el nivel educativo, la edad y el sexo de los encuestados han sido también variables influyentes. El corpus PRESEEA-Sevilla aporta nuevos datos acerca de la existencia de una variedad intermedia, que ha ido prosperando en diferentes áreas urbanas andaluzas, en la que conviven pautas de pronunciación innovadoras meridionales con otras conservadoras, estas últimas en convergencia con las soluciones fonéticas de la norma estándar.
