La integración como objetivo y aspiración, la tendencia a la síntesis y al eclecticismo, aparece como rasgo fundamental en las obras y vida de Isidoro de Sevilla, tanto a nivel teórico, como práctico. Esta peculiaridad distintiva supone asimismo un elemento de interés en la investigación (y debate histórico) acerca de la originalidad de la obra del filósofo hispalense. El presente artículo profundiza en esta cuestión, su significado e implicaciones a través tanto de los textos del metropolitano sevillano, como de las consideraciones de autoridades en los estudios isidorianos.
Integration as an objective and aspiration, the tendency toward synthesis and eclecticism emerges as a fundamental trait in the works and life of Isidore of Seville, both on a theoretical and practical level. This distinctive peculiarity also constitutes an element of interest in the research (and historical debate) regarding the originality of the Sevillian philosopher’s work. This article delves into this issue, its meaning, and implications through both the texts of the Sevillian metropolitan and the considerations of authorities in Isidorian studies.
