Authors: Cruz Hernández, Juan Gabriel;

La reforma del clero secular pretridentino

Abstract

This paper exposes the situation of the secular clergy before the Lutheran reform in Spain. We focused on the XV century and the first half of the 16TH century. The allegations are exposed to the corruption of the clergy and the attempts to reform before the Council of Trent, especially in the figures of the bishop and the priest. Issues such as the bishop's residence, parish visits, clergy formation, social assistance, etc. This work has a composition dual, a part is on the vices of the secular clergy, which is reflected both in the literature and canons, and another part on the impulses of the early reforms of the secular clergy in this stage of transition between the middle ages and the modern age.
