Los Ainu de Japón. Museos, colecciones y ferias de exposiciones

Abstract

The Ainu constitute a group of populations established since the modern era in Kamchatka, Sachalin, Kuril and Hokkaidō. I will deal in this article with the Ainu of Japan. During the Tokugawa period first and the Meiji period later, the Japanese imposed reforms and forced assimilation to the Ainu communities. Nowadays the Ainu identity has changed due to the Japanese stereotype, which sees them as a certain number of people who live in tourist villages. The goal of this work is to analyze the situation of Ainu collections in Japanese museums and museums around the world. How they were created and how they developed, up to the exhibition fairs as a way of communicating diversity.
