Abstract

Coğrafya eğitimi, bireyin dünya anlayışını şekillendirmede, eleştirel düşünceyi geliştirmede ve sürdürülebilir kalkınmayı teşvik etmede çok önemli bir rol oynar. Bu çalışma, küresel gelişmelerin müfredat üzerindeki etkisini kavramayı, coğrafya eğitimcilerinin öğretim yöntemi seçimlerini keşfetmeyi ve coğrafya öğretiminde kullanılan öğretim materyallerini değerlendirmeyi amaçlayan Arnavutluk'taki coğrafya eğitiminin temel yönlerini araştırmaktadır. Bu çalışma Arnavutluk'taki coğrafya eğitiminin mevcut durumunu inceleyerek zorlukları, güçlü yönleri ve iyileştirme fırsatlarını belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma, kapsamlı bir değerlendirme sağlamak için eğitim teorilerini, müfredat analizini, öğretmen bakış açılarını ve uluslararası kriterleri birleştiren çok yönlü bir yaklaşım kullanmaktadır. Arnavutluk ulusal eğitim sistemindeki müfredat ve ders içeriğinin gelişiminin tarihsel bir incelemesi yoluyla bu çalışma, küresel eğilimlerin Arnavutluk'ta coğrafya eğitiminin şekillenmesi üzerindeki etkisini araştırıyor. Araştırma aynı zamanda Arnavutluk'taki coğrafya öğretmenlerinin belirli öğretim yöntem ve tekniklerini benimsediği tercihleri ve koşulları da inceleyerek ülkedeki eğitimcilerin karşılaştığı zorluklara ve fırsatlara ışık tutuyor. Ek olarak çalışma eğitim kaynaklarının kullanılabilirliğini ve kullanımını, teknoloji entegrasyonunu ve coğrafya eğitimcilerinin mesleki gelişimini araştırmaktadır. Öğretim materyalleri bağlamında çalışma, coğrafya ders kitaplarının yeni pedagojik yaklaşımları yeterince yansıtıp yansıtmadığını değerlendirerek müfredat hedefleri ile mevcut kaynaklar arasındaki uyumu inceliyor. Ek olarak teknolojinin entegrasyonu ve coğrafya derslerinin diğer kültürel konularla ne ölçüde iç içe geçtiği incelenerek Arnavutluk'taki pedagojinin mevcut durumu hakkında fikir verilmektedir. Verilerin toplanmasında sınıf gözlemleri, öğretmenlerle yapılan görüşmeler ve çeşitli belgelerin incelenmesinden yararlanılmıştır. Veriler, Arnavutluk'un öğretim materyallerini yenilikçi yaklaşımları içerecek şekilde güncelleme konusunda zorluklarla karşı karşıya olduğunu gösteriyor. Çalışma coğrafya eğitiminde sürekli gelişme ihtiyacını vurgulayarak öğretmen eğitiminin, saha çalışmaları için mali desteğin ve öğrenme deneyimini geliştirmek için modern teknolojilerin dâhil edilmesinin önemini vurgulamaktadır. Araştırma; politika yapıcıları, eğitimcileri ve paydaşları bilgilendirmeyi, Arnavutluk'ta coğrafya eğitimini iyileştirmeye yönelik devam eden çabalara katkıda bulunmayı ve bilgili ve küresel olarak katılımcı vatandaşlardan oluşan bir nesil yetiştirmeyi amaçlıyor.

Geography education plays a pivotal role in shaping an individual's understanding of the world, fostering critical thinking, and promoting sustainable development. This study investigates the fundamental aspects of geography education in Albania, aiming to comprehend the influence of global developments on the curriculum, explore the choices of teaching methods by geography educators, and assess the teaching materials employed in geography instruction. This study investigates the current state of geography education in Albania, aiming to identify challenges, strengths, and opportunities for improvement. The study employs a multi-faceted approach, incorporating educational theories, curriculum analysis, teacher perspectives, and international benchmarks to provide a comprehensive assessment. Through a historical examination of the evolution of curricula and course content in the Albanian national education system, the study explores the impact of global trends on the shaping of geography education in Albania. The research also delves into the preferences and conditions under which geography teachers in Albania adopt specific teaching methods and techniques, shedding light on the challenges and opportunities faced by educators in the country. Additionally, the study investigates the availability and utilization of educational resources, technology integration, and the professional development of geography educators. In the context of teaching materials, the study scrutinizes the alignment between curricular goals and available resources, assessing whether geography textbooks adequately reflect new pedagogical approaches. Additionally, the integration of technology and the extent to which geography lessons are interwoven with other cultural subjects are examined, providing insights into the current state of pedagogy in Albania. Classroom observations, interviews with teachers and reviews of various documents were used for data collection. The data show that Albania faces challenges in updating teaching materials to incorporate innovative approaches. The study highlights the need for continued development in geography education, emphasizing the importance of teacher training, financial support for field studies, and the incorporation of modern technologies to enhance the learning experience. The research aims to inform policymakers, educators, and stakeholders, contributing to the ongoing efforts to improve geography education in Albania and foster a generation of informed and globally engaged citizens.
