Kadın çalışanlarda kariyer engelleri: radyoloji çalışanları örneği

Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between career barriers and glass ceiling syndrome of women managers working in health institutions. As the reasons, why women managers can‟t advance in their careers, issues such as women‟s multiple roles, women's personal preferences and perceptions, organizational culture, organizational politics, lack of mentors, inability to participate in informal communication networks and occupational differentiation are discussed in detail in the literature studies. These subjects were considered as dimensions of glass ceiling syndrome and a survey study was carried out in the light of them. Material, Method: In the questionnaire study, the gender, age, marital status, educational status, status and duration of professional experience of participants were analyzed. The evaluation of the obtained data was done with the SPSS Statistical Package Program (Version 17.0). Frequency distributions were used as statistical analysis technique. The results were assessed at a 95% confidence interval and a significance level of p <0.05. Independent samples T-test (Independent Samples Test) and One-Way ANOVA Test were used to test the hypotheses of our research. Findings: 32.9% of those surveyed have management experience from 0 to 5 years. 53,4% of the participants were single and 32,3% were between the ages of 24-28. Result: There is a significant difference between women working in radiology units of health institutions, according to sex and educational status, organizational culture and politics. There is also a significant difference in terms of mentality, according to gender and educational status. We have come to the conclusion that "Glass Ceiling Syndrome" is the reason why the women who take the role of the manager in the radiology units can‟t advance in their careers

Katılımcıların %61,5‟i ön lisans mezunudur.
