Oksidatif stres ve kas hasarı

Abstract

Düzenli fiziksel egzersizin ortalama yaşam süresini arttırdığı ancak aynı zamanda da uyarıcıbir stresör olduğu bilinmektedir. Egzersiz sırasında iskelet kasının metabolik aktivitesi artar,vücut buna oksijen tüketimini arttırarak cevap verir. Artan metabolizma ve artan oksijenkullanımı daha fazla reaktif oksijen ve nitrojen türleri (RONS)’nin üretimiylesonuçlanır. Oksidatif stresin meydana gelmesi oluşan RONS miktarı antioksidan sisteminkapasitesini aşmalıdır. Düşük yoğunluklu ve kısa süreli egzersiz protokolleri esnasındaantioksidan savunma sistemi RONS üretiminin üstesinden gelebilir fakat egzersizinyoğunluğu ve/veya süresi arttığında antioksidan savunma mekanizmaları artık yeterli olmazve oksidatif hasar meydana gelir. Egzersiz esnasında meydana gelen oksidatif hasar başlıcaegzersizin süresi ve yoğunluğuna bağlıdır.Birçok çalışma uzun veya kısa süreli yüksek yoğunluklu egzersizin aktif iskelet kaslarındaartmış radikal üretimi ile sonuçlandığını ve çalışan kaslarda lipid ve proteinlerin oksitlendiğinidoğrulamıştır. Akut egzersiz ile indüklenen kas hasarı egzersiz sonrası ilk 12-72 saatte ortayaçıkan ağrı ve kuvvet kaybıyla ilişkilidir. Hatta lökositlerin aktivasyonu, kas ödemi, fonksiyonkaybı ve ağrıyı içeren bir inflamatuvar cevaba neden olur. Ancak egzersizin vücudunantioksidan savunma sistemini uyarabileceği, düzenli aerobik egzersizin oksidatif hasarıbeyin, karaciğer, böbrek, iskelet kasında, kan ve kalp gibi pek çok organda azalttığı ve düzenliegzersizin oksidatif stresle ilişkili hastalıklardan koruyucu olduğunu raporlanmıştır. Bununyanında direnç egzersizlerinin de kilo fazlalığı olan yaşlı bireylerdeki lipid hidroperoksitlerigibi artmış olan oksidatif hasar belirteçlerini azalttığı gösterilmiştir.Yüksek düzeydeki serbest radikaller hücresel bileşenlere zarar verebilirken, düşük ve ortadüzeydeki oksidan moleküller hücrelerde gen ekspresyonunun modülasyonu, hücreselsinyallerin düzenlenmesi, apopotozun uyarılması, iskelet kası güç üretiminin modülasyonu,anjiyogenez ve nörogenez gibi çeşitli düzenleyici rollere sahiptir. Moleküler adaptasyonlarsonuç olarak oksidatif strese karşı direncin artmasına ve fizyolojik fonksiyonlarındüzelmesine neden olur. Düzenli egzersizlerin bu yararlı sonuçları tüketici egzersizindokulardaki hasar verici etkileri ile zıtlık göstermektedir. Bu nedenle egzersizin tipi,yoğunluğu, süresi ve sıklığı dikkatle belirlenmelidir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Egzersiz, Oksidatif Stres, RONS
