Gazetecilik ve İnternet

Gazetecilik ve İnternet

Abstract

Abstract: Internet which has turned out to be the most important communication technology has led significant changes on various professional groups. Journalism is one of them. The increase of information on the net, its acceptance by millions and its transformation to one of the major communication means have led journalists to use the net for several reasons. Surveys that aim to present the net's impacts on the profession and the way journalists perceive it show that in the first years journalists used the net to find background information for stories, send e-mails, search for articles and contact information. Now they additionally use the net to search for story ideas, discuss with colleagues and readers, follow mailing lists and news groups. Internet has become an important part of news rooms and daily routines. Journalists aren't the only ones who benefit from Internet; readers are another group that Internet offers several opportunities.
