İbn Sînâ`nın Sembolik Hikayelerinde Ahlak Felsefesi

Abstract

Hikayeler nefs'in kendini gerçekleştirme(yetkinlik) serüvenini verirken bunu başarmanın yollarını, dolayısıyla ahlak anlayışınınvazgeçilmez unsurlarını da vermektedir.

Studying the moral philosophy in the symbolic stories of Ibn Sina (Avicenna)requires identification of a method which facilitates analysis of the meaning of a speciallanguage of these stories. We have identified the main method of this thesis on theassumption that the most useful sources to understand the meaning of symbols are theother systematic works of the philosopher. Therefore we decided to analyze such worksfollowing a study of commentaries on the subject. Although stories reflectmetaphysical, psychological and epistemological thoughts of Ibn Sina, we studiedstories which refer to these fields in the context of their relation with ethics. Thus, it hasbeen established that these stories should be given a special emphasis to understand themoral philosophy of Ibn Sina who established links with other fields. The mostsignificant finding in the study of stories is the fact that the concept of ?Human? (annafs)which is at the center of Ibn Sina?s philosophy is also the most important elementshaping his moral philosophy. Stories provides clues about human self-realization andshows how this can be achieved, reflecting indispensable elements of moral philosophy.
