Audiovisual medyalarda etkin tipografi

Abstract

VII SUMMARY Graphic designers must comply with the principle of `readability`, that is, sentences must be clear, succinct and concise. Since audiovisual media proves much more costly than the traditional devices (i.e. radio, newspapers, billboards), the text should be cost-sensitive by means of `fast-tracking.` Shorter messages sti mulate reader's curiosity; they are less costly and they urge reader to come back again. The message should The balance between the contend of the text itself and its graphics must entertain its spectator. Spectator's perception of the typography on the TV screen functions quite differently than that of the traditional tools. Spectator's eye is being stimulated by moving images and pulsing sounds. Several factor contribute to the final percepti on of the audiovisiaul typography such as its font, color, background on which the message is placed, and its sound. Typographic creativity catches one's eye and thus secures the `readibility` of the message conveyed. High volatility, increasing cost, stiff competition that defines the current marketplace places further significance to the function of the creative audiovisu- als. Its entertainment value, probably its most important effect on the spectator, though, should not exceed the contend of the message conveyed and in fact, it must be in strict accord with it. The best comprehended text is the shorter one, one which is written with the clear fonts. Clear and suttle fonts prove to be crucial in moving images.
