Abstract

Objective: To determine the causes of obstacles experienced by women employees in their careers. It is aimed to investigate whether there is a statistically significant difference between these dimensions and gender, education level, age, professional experience, marital status and position variables.Materials and Methods: The participants were `Istanbul Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate` main service building and 39 District Directorates, with a total of 255 people.The data collection tool was developed by Hande AYOĞUL (2017) within the scope of the Graduate Program of Management in Anadolu University Social Sciences Institute. While preparing the questionnaire, Professor Doctor `Avni Barış BARAZ` has consulted. SPSS 23.0 package program was used to analyze the data.Findings and Results: As a result of the study, the sub-dimensions of the study were examined with variables such as gender, age, education status, career title, working time, marital status. Significant differences have been determined especially in the dimension of perceptions about gender roles.Key Words: Career, Career Obstacles, Women Managers.

Amaç: Kadın çalışanların kariyer engellerinin boyutlarını belirlemek ve bu boyutlar ile cinsiyet, eğitim durumu, yaş, mesleki tecrübe, medeni durum ve pozisyon değişkenleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığının araştırılması hedeflenmiştir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmanın araştırma grubunu İstanbul Gençlik ve Spor İl Müdürlüğü ana hizmet binası içerisinde ve 39 İlçe Müdürlüğünde çalışan toplam 255 personel oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Anadolu Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, Yönetim Organizasyon Yüksek Lisans Programı kapsamında Hande AYOĞUL (2017) tarafından geliştirilip Prof. Dr. Avni Barış BARAZ danışmanlığında hazırlanan anket kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 23.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır.Bulgular ve Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda araştırmaya katılan personelin cinsiyet, yaş, eğitim durumu, unvan, çalışma süreleri, medeni durum gibi değişkenleri ile araştırma ölçeğinin alt boyutları incelenmiş ve özellikle cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin algılar boyutunda anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Kariyer, Kariyer Engelleri, Kadın Yöneticiler.
