Thisresearch is a sociology of religion in which the interaction of religion and social change is examined. In order to examine this interaction, the attitudes of the community in Gerede district towards belief worship and social life are depicted and how these attitudes differ according to the main sociological variables were determined. In addition, in order to reveal the effects of social change with more objective data, the findings of the study of religious life, which was conducted 15 years ago, were used. This research consists of 3 main sections. In the first two chapters, the theoretical framework of the research was drawn by mentioning the concept of social change, the theories of social change, the relationship between social change and religion and the general characteristics of the research region and then the implementation is started. In the application section, the attitudes of the people of the region towards belief, worship and social life are given in frequency tables and comparisons are made with the findings of 15 years ago and the points in which changes are experienced are revealed. An attitude scale was developed in order to measure the differences in attitudes towards religious life according to the basic sociological variables and it was determined whether there were differences according to these variables.As a result, the basic hypothesis to support our nature experienced in Turkey; altough at Gerede in the 15 years social, paralel to the economic and technological developments, especially with the new communication Technologies and rapidly spreading apartment blocks on a rationalization and the striking of the autonomy process still in the area, in determining the lifestyle it is determined that traditional and religious values predominate, and that the change in traditional religious values is not at the level and depth to create a social differentiation in itself.

Araştırmamız din ve sosyal değişim etkileşiminin incelendiği bir din sosyolojisi çalışmasıdır. Bu etkileşimi incelemek amacıyla Gerede ilçesindeki toplumun inanç, ibadet ve sosyal hayata yönelik tutumları tasvir edilmiş; bu tutumların temel sosyolojik değişkenlere göre nasıl farklılıklar gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca sosyal değişimin etkilerinin daha nesnel verilerle ortaya konulması amacıyla araştırma sahasında 15 yıl önce yapılmış olan dini hayat çalışmasının bulgularından faydalanılmış, araştırmamızın bulguları 15 yıl önceki bulgularla karşılaştırılarak değişimin açısı tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmamız 3 ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk iki bölümde sosyal değişim kavramı, sosyal değişim kuramları, sosyal değişim ve din ilişkisi ile araştırma bölgesinin genel özelliklerinden bahsedilerek araştırmanın teorik çerçevesi çizilmiş, daha sonra uygulamaya geçilmiştir. Uygulama bölümünde bölge halkının inanç, ibadet ve sosyal hayata yönelik tutumları frekans tablolarıyla verilmiş ve 15 yıl önceki bulgularla kıyaslar yapılarak hangi noktalarda değişimler yaşandığı ortaya konulmuştur. Temel sosyolojik değişkenlere göre dini hayata yönelik tutumlardaki farklılıkların ölçülmesi amacıyla bir tutum ölçeği geliştirilmiş ve bu değişkenlere göre farklılıklar olup olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak temel hipotezimizi destekler nitelikte Türkiye'de yaşanan sosyal, ekonomik ve teknolojik gelişmelere paralel olarak, Gerede'de de 15 yıl içinde özellikle yeni iletişim teknolojileri ve hızla yaygınlaşan apartmanlaşma ile bir akılcılaşma ve özerkleşme sürecinin göze çarptığı ancak yine de bölgede, yaşam biçimini belirlemede çoğunlukla geleneksel ve dini değerlerin hâkim olduğu, geleneksel dini değerlerdeki değişimin başlı başına bir sosyal farklılaşma yaratacak düzey ve derinlikte olmadığı tespit edilmiştir.
