Nasır dönemindeki Mısır – Suudi Arabistan ilişkileri

Abstract

The beginning of the fifties of the last century marked a major development in the political and social conditions in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Egypt got rid of British colonialism and monarchy. At the same time, Saudi Arabia entered the era of having oil and establishing a modern state. These developments largely reflected in the foreign policy of the two countries, especially since the Egyptian president raised slogans of nationalism and Arab unity and made it his first principle in foreign movements. The relations between the two countries witnessed developments that reached full integration which then turned into absolute hostility; leading to the defeat of Egypt and the Arabs in the war against Israel in 1967, and the vanishing of the Arab nationalism.
