Sosyal medya bağımlılığı ve din: Marmara Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi örneği

Abstract

Social media concept was talked about itself since it emerged in the world and in Turkey. It seems that it will be talked in future too. Studies show that social media which is being studied and tried to be understood in different branches causes addiction to the people who use it for a long time. At this point, it is understood that social media's effect on religion and religious young people and their religious view, life and worship should be researched. There are few studies on this topic so our study has become more significant. This research is relational scanning type. It is aimed to understand if there is a relationship between theology students' aim of using of social media and their perception of social media's effect on their religious life. To do this, two different kinds of scale instruments have been developed. The first one is `Social Media Religious Using Aim Scale` which consists 10 items on 5 likert scale. The second one is ''Social Media Addiction and its Effect on Religious Life Scale` which consists 14 items on 5 likert. Data have been collected by the participation of 365 theology students. Therefore, with the aid of this study most of the questions about this issue have been answered. It is expected that the scale instruments which have developed for this research will contribute to the literature and the new studies.
