ŞemseddinSsami'de medeniyet kavramı

Abstract

Çağdaş Türk Düşüncesi alanında medeniyet kavramı, değişimi karşılayan bir ideal olarak merkezî bir konuma sahiptir. Tanzimat dönemi kültür hayatının önemli şahsiyetlerinden biri olan Şemseddin Sami’nin, söz konusu kavram hakkındaki kanaatlerini ortaya koymak bu çalışmanın amacıdır. Şemseddin Sami’nin bu konudaki düşünceleri, Osmanlı münevverlerinin Avrupa medeniyeti karşısındaki tutumlarını temsil etmekle birlikte, Osmanlı kültür hayatının geleceğini de tayin eden pek çok noktayı içermektedir. Bu düşünceler, bağlı olunan tarihin birikimleriyle mukayese edildiğinde ‘eski’ ile ‘yeni’ arasında ne gibi değişikliklerin gerçekleştiğini gösterecek ve modern dünyanın yeniden anlamlandırılmasında bazı istifade noktalarını bize sunacaktır.--------------------The concept of civilization in field of modern turkish thought has a central position as supplies the change. The aim of this work is emphasizing the thoughts about this concept of Şemseddin Sami is the one of important people in cultural life of Tanzimat period. The thoughts about this matter of Şemseddin Sami both symbolizes the attitudes toward the civilization of Europe of Ottaman englightened people and contains a lot of points which identify the future of ottaman cultural life. When these thoughts compare with historical accumulation on that period show what kind of changes are actualized between old and new and present some special points on giving meaning again to modern world.
