Abstract

Nahdlatul Ulama is a moderate Islamic organization in Indonesia that was born in XX century. NU's establishment is a response of Islam renewal in Indonesia. NU was involved in struggling for Indonesia's independence and its constitutional formation. NU is a religious social organization which having religious educational activities variant, society empowerment and religious fatwa discussion. On its development, as its function as religious social organization, NU deals dynamic in its relations to politics and state, either in Sukarno's era and Suharto's era. NU had declared NU party in 1951, joined in United Development Party through the partial fusion in 1973. It seceded itself from that party in 1984 and finally established the National Awakening Party in 1998. In this dissertation, by analyzing historical journey, religious relations and politics especially, the Islamic movement would be changed. Moreover in the context of modernization and democratization, Islamic movement is required to adapting with the time changing. NU has proven that Islamic movement can changed in accordance to its interests. In the context of NU, those changes use Fiqh rules that in line with what is enshrined in comprehension of Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama'ah. Key Words: Nahdlatul Ulama, Islamic Movement, Religion, Politics

Nahdlatul Ulema XX yüzyılın başlangıcında Endonezya'da kurulan Ilımlı İslamci örgüttür. NU'nun kuruluşu Endonezyadaki yenileme İslamcı hareketin yaygınlaşmasına bir cevap niteliktedir. NU kurtuluş mücadelesi ve Anayasa Oluşturmasına aktif olarak katıldı. NU, din eğitimi, halk geliştirme, ve fetva mevzularına kadar ilginenen dini sosyal örgüttür. Gelişen süreçte NU, dini ve sosyal örgüt olarak siyaset ve devletle olan ilişkilerinde gerek Soekarno ve Soeharto döneminde değişiklik yaşadı. NU 1951 yılında NU partisi kurdu, 1973 yılında partiler birleşmesi uygulamasından dolayı PPP partisiyle birleştri. 1984 yılında ise NU, siyasetten ve PPP partisinden çekildi. Gelişen süreçte 1998 yılında NU tekrar siyasi parti kurdu. Bu doktora teziyle, yazar tarih süresince din ile siyaset ilişkileri ve özellikle İslamcı hareketlerinde değişiklik yaşayabilir. Dahası demokrasi ve çağdaşlaştırma süresince İslamcı hareketi zaman değişikliğine adapte olmak zorundadır. Bu konuda NU, İslamcı hareketin çıkarlarına göre değişebileceğini ispat etmiştir. Bu bağlamda NU, bu değişikliği ehli sünnet ve cemaatın fıkıh kaidelerine göre şekillendirmiştir. Anahtar Kalimeler: Nehdlatul Ulama, İslami Hareketi, Din, Siyaset
