Gazzali’de siyaset felsefesi

Abstract

Gazali, as a very important figure at Islamic tradition of political thought, has very different aspects have to be evaluated. Althought he take place in the classical Sunni political thought with his ideas and contrubitions to Islamic thought at his books like el-Iktisad, el-Müstazhiri and Nasihatü’l-Muluk; his statements at his book Ihya’u Ulumi’d-Din implie civil disobedience and passive resistance –if we wish to describe these ideas in terms of contemporary terminology-. Gazzali critizied the ruling class at this work, and expressed that the salvation could be possible only if people avoid them. Gazzali, from this perspective, represents break from the classical tradition of the Sunni political theory and seems to have embraced the Sufi tradition. At this point, has been observed that, there are a very striking similarity between Gazzali and some leading mystic figures in Islamic history who isolated themselves from the society and with the emergence of seclusion at the confusion of civil war.
