Yapılan bu alışmasında Avrupa Dil Portfolyosu çerçevesinde devlet ve özel ilköğretim okullarında 4, 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıflarında verilen yabancı dil eğitimi derslerinde yabancı dil öğretmenlerinin dört temel dil becerisi yeterlilik algılarının farklı kişisel özelliklerine göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı ve onların dört temel dil becerisindeki yeterlilik algılarıyla yabancı dil kullanma sıklıkları arasındaki ilişkinin olup olmadığı ortaya koyulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu araştırmada “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”’yla birlikte “Yabancı Dil Öğretmenlerinin Yeterlilik Algıları Ölçeği”, “Yabancı Dil Öğretmenlerinin Yabancı Dil Kullanma Sıklıkları Ölçeği” ve “Görüşme Formu” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada aşağıdaki istatistiksel analizler kapsamında “Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi Tekniği” ve “Lisrel Testi” uygulanmıştır. “Test-Tekrar Test” ve “Cronbach Alpha” hesaplanmıştır. Ayrıca “Yüzde” ve “Frekans” hesaplamaları yapılmıştır. Bunun dışında “T-Testi,” “Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (One-Way Analysis of Variance),” “Post-Hoc Scheffe Testleri” ve Pearson’s Momentler Çarpım Korelasyonu” tekniği kullanılmıştır. “Yabancı Dil Öğretmenlerinin Yeterlilik Algıları Ölçeği”’nden elde edilen sonuçlara göre, yabancı dil öğretmenlerinin dört temel dil becerisinde yeterlilik algılarının oldukça yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca diğer bir ölçek olan “Yabancı Dil Öğretmenlerinin Yabancı Dil Kullanma Sıklıkları Ölçeği”’nin sonuçlarına göre ise, yabancı dil öğretmenleri çoğu zaman sınıflarında yabancı dil kullandıklarını belirtmişledir. Bunun dışında, araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, “Yabancı Dil Öğretmenlerinin Yeterlilik Algıları” ile “Yabancı Dil Öğretmenlerinin Yabancı Dil Kullanma Sıklıkları” arasında anlamlı bir ilişki belirlenmiştir.

With this PHD (doctoral) thesis, within the framework of European Language Portfolio, it is aimed to determine that if there is a meaningful relationship between the perception of competence in four basic language skills of the foreign language teachers and the frequency of using that language in their classes, in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades in state and private primary schools. The data for the study was obtained by the following instruments: a “Personal Information Form”, “Perception of Competence of the Foreign Language Teachers” “The Frequency of Foreign Language Usage of the Foreign Language Teachers in Their Classes a Frequency Scale” and “Interview Form.” In conclusion; both of the scales developed by the researcher, “Foreign Language Teachers’ Perception of Competence Scale” and “Frequency Scale of Foreign Language Usage of Foreign Language Teachers” found to be valid and reliable. Besides, according to the results of the second scale, “Frequency Scale of Foreign Language Usage of Foreign Language Teachers” it is found that the majority of the teachers are using the foreign language frequently in their classes. Finally, according to the result of the study, it was reported that there is a meaningful relationship between the perception of competence in four basic language skills of the foreign language teachers and the frequency of using that language in their classes.
