Abstract

This study, examined the Turkish punctuation consists of three parts:In the first part, the problem in the work, objectives, importance and methods are included. The purpose of the study is to identify rules of punctuation and provide the punctuation marks to be used correctly in all kind of texts by giving examples according to the these rules.In this study a large number of sample sentences obtained by scanning method were examined, through these examples the wrong usages and the troubles lead to these wrong usages were tried to find; and solutions to these problems are put, for each punctuation mark rules are offered, these bids have been supported with examples.In the second chapter, the Works made on punctuation, insightful works on punctuation, researches and studies about punctuation marks were evaluated.The third section contains 17 titles consisting of two sub-sections in itself. For each punctuation mark, under separate titles, information has been given, then the problems have been examined on the problem examples from different sources, solutions to these problems have been tried to find and the proposals have been given.On the study, using unnecessary mark, no using when it is essential, using the wrong sign, inconsistent punctuation in the work, being not fit to the rules and the contradictory findings of samples are the issues related to the punctuation that have been reached.

Türkçede noktalamayı inceleyen bu çalışma üç bölümden oluşmaktadır:Birinci bölümde çalışmanın problemi, amacı, önemi ve yöntemi yer almaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı noktalama işaretlerinin kurallarını sağlam belirlemek ve bu kurallara uygun düzgün örnekler vererek, işaretlerin her türlü metinde yerli yerinde kullanılabilmesini sağlamaktır.Çalışmada tarama yöntemiyle elde edilen çok sayıda örnek cümle incelenmiş, bu örnekler üzerinden yanlış kullanışlar ve bu yanlışa sebep olan sorunlar tespit edilmeye çalışılmış, sorunlara çözümler üretilmiş; her bir noktalama işareti için kural teklifleri yapılmış, teklifler örneklerle desteklenmiştir.İkinci bölümde noktalama konusunu ele alan çalışmalar değerlendirilmiştir.Üçüncü bölüm kendi içinde ikişer alt bölüm içeren 17 başlıktan oluşmuştur. Her bir noktalama işareti için ayrı başlıklar altında işaret ile ilgili bilgi verilmiş, ardından sorunlar değişik kaynaklardan alınan sorunlu örnekler üzerinde incelenmiş, bu sorunlara çözümler bulunmaya çalışılmış ve o işaretle ilgili tekliflere yer verilmiştir. Teklifler değişik yazılı metinlerden alınan örneklerle desteklenmiştir. Çalışmada noktalama işaretleri ile ilgili sorunların gereksiz yere işaret kullanma, gerektiği hâlde kullanmama, yanlış işaret kullanma, eser içinde tutarsız noktalama, kuralların tam oturtulmamış olması ve kuralların altında çelişkili örneklerin yer alması bulgularına ulaşılmıştır.
