This thesis is issued in order to form a written source about model and mold production of the ceramic sanitary devices for the students of ceramic department of the faculty of fine arts and to give clear explanation about the manufacturing processes of closet and lavatory. Ceramic material, which its history is older as long as the human history, is used in many areas by developing in parallel to the technology. One of those comprehensive areas is the sanitary devices. The sanitary devices have passed through many significant processes until it has found its modern form and have been started to be manufactured from single part of ceramic upon the technical issues have been solved during the course of time.Finalization of a ceramic product depends on the manufacturing technologies which are different than each other. Knowing those technologies is important in order to define the manufacturing style of closet and lavatory which their designing and modeling are quite complex. In this respect, those processes have been examined in this thesis. A well-equipped workshop, where the various tools and equipment are available, is necessary to produce the model and mold of ceramic sanitary devices. After the technical drawings of the designed closet and lavatory model is issued, the model and mold productions of them are carried out in those workshops in reference to those technical drawings. All production processes of the model and mold both of closet and lavatory, and finalization of them as a model product are described with their all details in the thesis.

Bu tez, güzel sanatlar fakültesi seramik bölümü öğrencilerine, seramik sağlık gereçleri model ve kalıp üretimi konusunda yararlanabilecekleri yazılı bir kaynak oluşturmak; klozet ve lavabonun üretim süreçlerine açıklık getirmek üzere gerçekleşmiştir. Geçmişi insanlık tarihi kadar eski olan seramik malzemesi, teknolojiyle paralel bir gelişme göstererek pek çok alana girmiştir. Bu alanların en kapsamlılarından biri sağlık gereçleri alanıdır. Sağlık gereçleri çağdaş formunu buluncaya kadar çok sayıda biçim değişikliğine uğramış, zaman içerisinde teknik problemlerinin çözüm bulmasıyla tek parça olarak seramikten üretilmeye başlanmıştır.Bir seramik ürününün sonuçlanması, birbirinden farklı üretim teknolojilerine bağlıdır. Bu süreçleri tanımak; tasarımı ve modellemesi oldukça karmaşık olan klozet ve lavabonun üretim yöntemini tanımlamak açısından önemlidir. O nedenle, tezde bu süreçler irdelenmiştir. Seramik sağlık gereçleri model ve kalıp üretimi için, çeşitli aletlerin ve malzemelerin bulunduğu, donanımlı bir atölyeye ihtiyaç vardır. Tasarımı hazırlanan klozet ve lavabo modelinin teknik çizimleri yapıldıktan sonra; bu teknik çizimler üzerinden, model ve kalıp üretimleri bu atölyelerde yapılmaktadır. Tezin içeriğinde klozet, lavabo model ve kalıp yapım aşamalarının en ince ayrıntılarına kadar yazılı ve görsel olarak değinilmiştir. Alçı üretim kalıpları gerçekleştirildikten sonra seramik malzemesi ile ürünlerin döküm aşamalarına değinilmiş, ortaya çıkan döküm ürünler ilk ve sırlı pişirimleri yapılmıştır.
