İslam düşüncesine göre ölümle birlikte insanlar yok olup gitmeyecek, kıyamet kopana kadar berzah aleminde (kabir hayatı) kalacak, kıyamet koptuktan sonra da adına ahiret denilen alemde yaşamaya devam edecektir. İslam inancına göre insanlar, ahirette dünyadaki amellerine göre ya cennetle mükafatlandırılacak ya da cehennemle cezalandırılacaktır. Cennete erişme ve cehennemden korunma yolları ise, gerek Kur'an-ı Kerîm'de gerekse hadislerde açıklanmış ve müslümanların hayatlarını bu açıklamalar doğrultusunda düzenlemeleri bildirilmiştir.Hz. Peygamber hadîs-i şerîflerinin birçoğunda anılan konuya temas etmiş ve kişiyi cehenneme sürükleyen amelleri açıklamıştır. Biz de Hz. Peygamber'in işaret ettiği bu fiilleri, hadisler ışığında kişiyi cehenneme götüren eylemler başlığı altında inceledik.Araştırmamız girişi takip eden iki bölüm ile sonuç kısmından oluşmaktadır. Girişte konunun önemi ve amacıyla, araştırmanın metodu ve planı hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Birinci bölüm kavramsal çerçeve olarak adlandırılmış ve bu bölümde cehennemin kelime anlamı, diğer isimleri, cehennemin tasviri ile cehennemin halihazırdaki varlığı ve sonsuzluğu üzerinde durulmuştur. Ayrıca bu bölümde Hz. Peygamber'in hadislerinde cehenneme gitmeyi anlatan farklı ibareler tanıtılmıştır.İkinci bölümde ise Hz. Peygamber'in hadislerinde kişiyi cehenneme götüreceği haber verilen eylemler ele alınmıştır. Söz konusu eylemler dört ayrı başlık altında incelenmiştir. İlk kısımda kişiyi cehenneme götüreceği Hz. Peygamber tarafından haber verilen inanç merkezli eylemler, ikinci kısımda ibadetlerle ilgili eylemler, üçüncü kısımda ahlâkî eylemler, dördüncü ve son kısımda ise sosyal nitelikli eylemler değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmamız sonuç kısmıyla tamamlanmıştır.

According to islamic toughts, people will not disappear when they die, but they stay in grave life until the doomday and after the doomday they will be in the hereafter ( the next world). According to islamic toughts people will be awarded in Heaven or will be punished in Hell according to their act book in the world. Getting into Heaven and staying away from Hell is written in the Qoran , in the hadiths and tells muslims about life and to fix their lives according to it.In most of Hz. Muhammed's hadiths they are explaned by the previous paragraphs and explained by the previous paragraphs and explained what drags people to Hell and we studied these verbs the actions that drag us to Hell under the light of the hadiths.Our study ended with two parts that follow the introduction. In the introduction we wrote about the importance of the subject. Our methods of study and our plans. We called the first part `conceptual frame` and this part explains the meaning of Hell, names, description of Hell and emphasized on the fact that Hell exists even before the doomsday and eternal. And this part includes Hz. Muhammed's hadiths and (different) descriptions about going to Hell.In the second part, Hz. Muhammed's hadiths talk about what send people to Hell. These are studied under four headlines. The first headline emphasizes on the actions that Hz. Muhammed told us under faith based, the second part about worshiping, the third part about moral actions and the fourth & the last part about actions with social attributes. Our research ends with the result part.
