The Feminism movement that appeared during Kalam Period in the westaffected Islamic World and the intellectuals discussed ?woman subject? in variousIslamic Countries, especially in the Otoman Empire. With this study the methods ofdiscussing the woman subject were tried to be explained in Kalam sources.There foreprimarily the gender discussions about the prophethood and state administration of thewomen existing in Classical Kalam Texts were discussed. Afterwards, the emergence ofthe woman subject in the west and Islamic World was analysed in Modern KalamPeriod. The approaches of the Kalam Scholars to the woman subject were discussed,too. In connection with this subject the rights and privileges of women granted to thewomen by Islam, the headscarf issue, their participation in the social life and thefamily life and other related subjects were discussed under separate headlines.
Yeni ilm-i kelâm döneminde Batı'da ortaya çıkan feminizm slâmdünyasını etkilemis, basta Osmanlı Devleti olmak üzere çesitli ülkelerdedüsünürler kadın meselesini ele almıslardır. Bu çalısma ile kelâm kaynaklarındakadın konusunun ne sekilde ele alındıgı anlatılmaya çalısılmıstır. Bu sebeple ilkolarak klasik dönem kelâm metinlerinde geçen peygamberlik ve devletyöneticiligi ile ilgili cinsiyet tartısmalarına yer verilmistir. Sonra yeni ilm-i kelâmdöneminde kadın meselesinin ortaya çıkısından bahsedilmistir. Kelâmalimlerinin kadın meselesine yaklasımları ele alınmıs, bu meseleyle baglantılıolarak slâm'ın kadına bahsettigi hak ve imtiyazlar, kadının tesettürü, sosyalhayata katılımı, aile hayatında kadın ve ilgili konular müstakil baslıklar halindeislenmistir.
