Masters using their hand skills are also masters of life. This has been the basic concept of human life since the ancient times. After the owning of land, comes the owning of instruments. Ones who have been able to produce the instrument, became the real owner. Production is a systematic process. It neccesitates an orderly and disciplined approach. So production is always together with the need organize life itself. Today, manual production has lost its importance vis a vis the developing technology. Manual skills previovly passed on to son from father and to the apprentice from the master, are now facing extinction.. Their methods, ways of organization and manipulation of instruments will soon become objects in display in libraries and museums. Bursa, the city which has been the main place for craftsmen since the old days, is now the land of several surviving knife-masters. In this documentary, the daily lives of knife-masters are described including their skillful approach to production phases of a knife and their existence in this high technology era..^ss* 40
