Abstract

ÖZET Doğal çalışma ortamında kırılan metalik malzemeler, birbirlerinden farklı ve kendilerine has karakteristik özellikler gösterir. Laboratuvarda yorulma ortamı sağlanarak yapılan testler sonucu özel kırılmış numuneler ve sanayide servis ortamında kırılmış gerçek numunelerin kırık yüzey analizleri, gözlemsel vede mikroskopik olarak yapılmıştır. Tüm kırılma tipleri, mikro çatlaktan son kırılmaya kadar belirli yayılma izini takip eder. Yorulma kırılmasına uğramış endüstriyel metalik malzemelerin gözlemsel olarak analizi ve sistematik olarak sınıflandırılması bu çalışmanın başlığını oluşturmaktadır. Uzun bir süreç içerisinde endüstriden toplanarak biriktirilmiş, çeşitli metal yorulması örnekleri ve bunların çalıştıkları doğal ortam koşullan ile ilgili bilgiler tez araştırması için ana kaynağı oluşturmuştur. Karşılaştırmalı olarak örneklerin analizi için laboratuvarda yorulma dayanımı testi yapılmıştır. Tüm bu analizlerin sonucu olarak, bütün yorulma kırılması tiplerinin yüzeydeki yorulma izlerine göre sistematik olarak sınıflandırılabileceği gösterilmiştir. Bütün kırılma tiplerini kapsayacak daha detaylı bir çalışma, gelecekte dizayn mühendisliği için kullanışlı bir kaynak olacaktır.

ABSTRACT Failures of Metallic Components have their roots of origin in the imposed service conditions. Failure patterns based on laboratory testing and long-term accumulation of real samples, have been visually and microscopically observed. All types of fracture follow certain patterns of propagation. A systematic classification of failures by visual observation of fracture in industrial metallic component, with particular reference to fatigue fracture, was the topic of this study. The failure samples collected in the laboratory over a long time period, including the history of origin of the failures were the main sources available for the study. Comparative features were re-checked by carrying out fatigue tests. As the result of intensive analysis, almost all types of failure have been systematically groupped by following fatigue marks. Further research is required to cover all types of failure in order to be a most useful source of information for the designers in the future.
