A Study on the relationship between organizational climate and organizational commitment

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was designed to investigate the relationship between organizational climate and organizational commitment and whether some demographic characteristics of subjects were related to these two variables. A questionnaire which consisted of 62 questions were employed to 216 subjects from eight different firms. These eight firms were chosen from three different trade sectors which were service, production and construction on convenience basis. The data obtained from these questionnaires showed that organizational climate were strongly related to organizational commitment. The results also indicated that climate perceptions of subjects showed differences among firms and sectors. It was also found that some demographic variables were more related to organizational climate and commitment.

ÖZET Bu araştırma örgüt iklimi ve örgüte bağlılık arasında bir ilişki bulunup bulunmadığını ve çalışanların bazı demografik özelliklerinin bu iki değişkenle olan ilişkisini saptamak üzere gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sekiz farklı firmada çalışan 216 kişiden oluşan denek grubuna 62 soruluk bir anket uygulanmıştır. Bu sekiş firma hizmet, üretim ve yapı sektörü olmak üzere üç farklı ticari sektörden, erişilebilirlik bazında seçilmiştir. Anketlerden edinilen sonuca göre, örgüt iklimi ile örgüte bağlılık arasında önemli bir ilişki vardır. Kişilerin örgüt iklimi algılamaları firma ve sektör baslarında farklılık göstermektedir. Ayrıca bazı demografik değişkenlerin örgüt iklimi ve örgüte bağlılık ile daha fazla ilişkili olduğu f saptanmıştır.
