Abstract: This book presents for the first time in Italy an extended interview that the Argentine author Fernando Sorrentino had with one of the greatest exponents of contemporary Argentine literature, Adolfo Bioy Casares. The seven conversations between the two authors took place during "seven Saturday morning" in 1988 and were published in Argentina a few years later, in 1992. Sorrentino had the opportunity to interview Jorge Luis Borges in 1974 and 'Seven Conversations with Borges' were translated in Italian in 1999. The Seven Conversations with Bioy Casares not only do notice about the extraordinary personality of the Argentine author but also allow you to relive an Argentina and some neighborhoods of Buenos Aires long vanished, as when Bioy speaks of Martín Fierro and gauchos, of the the texts of the 'primitive tangos' and those 'canaglieschi' that Borges did not like , of dairies and horse stables on Quintana avenue. In his words these memories and observations take on a tone not so much nostalgic, as social, anecdotal, humorous. Sorrentino's book offers the reader a privileged and almost intimate thought of this great Argentine writer of the twentieth century.
