Abstract

Il saggio propone una breve panoramica sugli studi riguardanti le iniziative di riorganizzazione in ambito ecclesiastico in area umbra messe in campo dalle autorità della Sede apostolica negli anni della prima Restaurazione, con particolare attenzione ai saggi condotti sui materiali prodotti dalla Congregazione della Riforma. In particolare si sofferma l’attenzione sulle linee di intervento, sulle difficoltà, sui dibattiti e sui risultati della Restaurazione nel quadro più ampio dei programmi di ri-cristianizzazione della società, a partire dall’attività della Congregazione della Riforma appositamente costituita da Pio VII nel 1814 con l’obiettivo di “riformare”, appunto, l’assetto ecclesiastico nel suo complesso.
