In the case of a compact transformation group G represented by real orthogonal matrices acting in Rn, it is shown how one may determine a complete integrity basis of G-invariant polynomials and how one may determine the equations and inequalities defining the orbit space of G and its strata. Both results are obtained using the bP-matrix, a matrix function of basic invariant polynomials.
