Abstract

Le "invasioni monastiche" che a partire dalla seconda metà dell'XI secolo si registrano nei giudicati di Torres, Gallura, Arborea e Cagliari, se da una parte furono determinate dalla politica pontificia di riforma, dall'altra andavano incontro alla volontà dei giudici di entrare a pieno titolo nell'alveo della cristianità occidentale, oltre che rispondere all'esigenza di migliorare l'economia agricola dell'Isola ed elevare il precario livello culturale delle "cancellerie" giudicali.La cronologia della penetrazione monastica in Sardegna è stata ben delineata dalla storiografia, così come la distribuzione nel territorio, mentre non altrettanto a fondo sono stati studiati finora gli aspetti giurisdizionali, anche per la carenza e la reticenza delle fonti. Il presente lavoro si concentra sul priorato camaldolese di S. Nicola di Trullas.
