This book aims to provide an intrpretation of Gramsci especially in terms of Italian and European tradition, with the evidence of the role played by Gobetti. On Gobetti will be dedicated three years after a twin volume. Decisive are the chapters on the role of intellectuals, the problem of the State and (among the first studies on the subject) to the question of religion. Immediately after the publication of the volume, have been many reviews and discussions on the theme of moral and religion in Gramsci's thought.
