The article is devoted to some spices and seasonings which were used in the Byzantine Empire in preparation of meals and beverages, also it will be refined the list of spices in Byzantine Greek terminology. It will be found the exclusively commercial character of spices seller profession (ὁ ἀρωματοπράτης, ὁ μυρεψός), that explains the virtual absence of specialization in this field. The trade import areas will be defined more exactly.
