Based on a wide set of formal structures that semantically respond to the unitary idea of the verb, our goal is to try to define the concept of verbal expression differentiating it from the clausal expression within limits that so often are not on the dictionaries of use. For this we have focused on analysing both the morpho-syntactic and lexical-semantic levels of the different features that characterize this type of structure. The cognitive approach has allowed a more complex vision of the concept by highlighting the patterns that define it and establishing possible bases in the search for the closest equivalent in its verbal correspondence.
