Abstract

La maestria narrativa di Ivan Cankar (1876-1918) ha esercitato una forte influenza non solo sui letterati sloveni, ma anche su molti scrittori stranieri. Tra questi, il portato filosofico, concettuale, tematico, etico ed estetico della prosa cankariana ha stillato particolari stimoli creativi nello scrittore italiano di origini istro-triestine Fulvio Tomizza (1935-1999). Il saggio prende in esame l'ampiezza e la profondità di tale influsso ‒ che ha ispirato al Tomizza demiurgo soprattutto la riduzione teatrale del romanzo "Martin Kačur" di Cankar dal titolo "L'idealista" (1976) e alcune significative brevi prose (ad es. il bozzetto "L'ora di sloveno") ‒, per evidenziare induttivamente gli universalia dell'arte cankariana che hanno saputo trascendere il contesto nazionale fecondando altri autori e letterature.
