The comparison of the text of an edict of Theodosius II kept intact in the Acta Conciliorum Oecumenicorum (in Greek) and abbreviated in CTh. 16.5.66 (in Latin) allows us to appreciate the technical capabilities of the imperial chancery and the new legislative policy choices on faith (the edict was translated into Italian in both versions).
