This work examines the transformation of heroes of taditional narratives into those of popular novel as observed in the bad-boy and innocent- girl character types of three Watpadd novels, as well as the transformation of the hero of the individualized novel and the begining of its subsequent standardization in the context of the political, the social, the espistomological/intellectual and the economic. The disintegration of the ideal description of the hero being one based in religion and mythology had a radical impact on the transformation of the hero from the traditional narratives of Greek antiquity into that of modern narratives. The disintegration of absolute values caused the deformation of the holistic construction and paved the way for individualization. İn complete contrast to the heroes of traditional narratives, the individualized hero's main aim is his own happiness and negative/unethical actions are never avoided in the quest to obtain it. Though like the heroes of traditional narratives those of popular novels have also become standard in their own right, they differ in so far as they lack the ideal description of the former and are also self-centered characters.

Geleneksel anlatılardaki kahramanların popüler romanlardaki dönüşümünün üç Wattpad romanındaki kötü erkek ve masum kız tipleri üzerinden incelendiği bu çalışmada,kahramanın dönüşümü siyasi, sosyal, fikri ve ekonomik bağlamında değerlendirilmiş ve bireyleşmiş roman kahramanının yeniden tipleşmeye başlayışı bu doğrultuda açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Antik Yunan'daki geleneksel anlatı kahramanlarının modern zamanlarda roman kahramanına dönüşümünde din ve mitoloji temelli ideal tasavvurundaki parçalanmanın köklü bir etkisi olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Mutlak değerlerin yitirilişi bütüncül yapının bozulmasına sebep olmuş ve bireyselleşmenin önünü açmıştır. Bireyselleşen kahraman ise artık geleneksel anlatılardaki kahramanların aksine kendi mutluluğunu hedeflemiş ve bu amacına ulaşabilmek için olumsuz davranışlardan kaçınmamıştır. Bu doğrultuda popüler roman kahramanları da her ne kadar geleneksel anlatı kahramanları gibi tipleşmiş olsalar da bir ideal tasavvurundan yoksun oluşları ve benmerkezci karakterleri sebebiyle farklılıklar gösterirler.
