Melina Romero fue violada y asesinada en el año 2014. Su caso dio lugar a numerosos informes de prensa donde se vincularon sus hábitos, su situación familiar y escolar y su estética con la violencia sexual que padeció y su posterior asesinato. En este artículo se analiza la producción discursiva de estudiantes de escuelas secundarias de Córdoba, Argentina, a partir de la visualización en distintos grupos de discusión de una foto de la joven asesinada. El análisis se centra en los sentidos sobre determinadas estéticas femeninas y cómo estos se vinculan con las concepciones de violencia sexual. Los datos surgen de un proyecto de investigación realizado en dos establecimientos educativos de sectores sociales contrastantes de la ciudad. Se realizaron observaciones, entrevistas con agentes educativos y grupos de discusión con estudiantes. Los resultados sugieren que Melina es responsabilizada por lo que le sucedió y la violación aparece como un acto de violencia disciplinadora.
Melina Romero’s was raped and killed in 2014. This case gave rise to many journalistic reports describing her habits, her social, familiar and school situation, and specially focusing on her look. In this article we approach the discursive production of high schools students from Córdoba, Argentina, in particular comments about Melina Romero’s photograph. The analysis is centering on meanings of certain female aesthetic, and how they connect with some conceptions on sexual violence. The paper is based on data produced during fieldwork carried out in two different schools in Córdoba, Argentina. We did observations, interviews with teachers, principals, tutors and focus group with student of different courses. The results suggest that Melina is held responsible for what happened to her and rape is conceived as a violence disciplining.
