Abstract

The article deals with the tributary structure of the Exchequer of Cuyo, between 1806 and 1818. We analyze the incomes and expenditures of the Exchequer of Cuyo (San Juan, San Luis and Mendoza provinces) and identify changes and continuities in tax levy, fiscal performance, the public debt evolution and the links with the treasure of Buenos Aires -at colonial and independent times- as well as with another institutions with fiscal jurisdiction, like the Cabildo and the Tobacco's administration.
