Abordamos el caso de algunos registros y reproducciones dela "Batalla de los niños", 16 de Agosto de 1869, en el marco de la Guerra de la Triple Alianza, Paraguay. En este episodio 3.500/4.000 niños vestidos de adultos, junto a ancianos y mujeres, se enfrentan a las tropas de Pedro II del Brasil. Los niños y sus madres son masacrados e incinerados en la maleza. En conmemoración se instaura el 16 de agosto como el Día del Niño Paraguayo,habilitando a muchas celebraciones de orden cívico, privado-doméstico y religioso.
We deal with the case of some records and reproductions of the “Battle of the children”, August 16, 1869 in the framework of the Triple Alliance War, Paraguay. In this episode 3,500/4,000 children dressed as adults, along with elders and women, face the troops of Pedro II of Brazil. Children and their mothers are slaughtered and incinerated in the undergrowth. In commemoration is established on August 16 as the Day of the Paraguayan Child, enabling many celebrations of civic, private-domestic and religious order.
